W&G Baird shortlisted for Bespoke Publication of the Year at the Printweek Awards 2026

W&G Baird is proud to announce that we have been shortlisted for Bespoke Publication of the Year at the Printweek Awards 2026, one of the most prestigious accolades in the UK print industry.

The shortlist recognises excellence in craftsmanship, innovation and collaboration, and our entry showcases four standout projects that exemplify our commitment to quality, precision and customer care: Anthology magazine, Carlo Scarpa, Cox & Kings and Qudos.

Anthology magazine

Each edition of *Anthology* demands an exceptional level of execution, from early planning through to final finishing, to consistently reflect the premium quality associated with the brand. At W&G Baird, measurable quality controls are implemented at every stage of production to ensure the finished magazine meets exacting standards from the first copy to the last.

Particular care was taken on press to preserve the sharpness and vibrancy of the imagery, where colour consistency and print quality are critical to the magazine’s eclectic visual style. This edition also required additional attention due to two cover variations featuring paintings by the same artist, with precise colour reproduction essential to accurately reflect the artwork. The project was produced and delivered entirely in house at W&G Baird.

Carlo Scarpa

This impressive architectural publication demanded the highest standards of image reproduction throughout. The customer attended press to approve the job, ensuring complete confidence in the final result.

The finished book measures 297 x 297mm and contains 384 pages of text. It features 150mm-wide flaps on both the front and back covers, finishing flush to the text block. Thread sewing was used for durability, and the cover is finished with an anti-scuff matt lamination, combining elegance with practicality.

Cox & Kings

This project marked our first collaboration with Cox & Kings for their EU brochure, with the UK edition produced by a different printer. We worked closely with the client from the outset, producing a wet proof of the cover prior to print and providing detailed guidance on artwork adjustments, particularly for images running across double-page spreads.

The cover was printed on 300gsm Soporset, with 100gsm Soporset used for the text, and finished with silver foil blocking. In addition to print production, W&G Baird arranged mailing within the Republic of Ireland and distribution to travel agents. The client feedback was overwhelmingly positive, praising the care, attention and behind-the-scenes press and finishing videos shared with their team.

Qudos

For Qudos, part of the Percy Doughty group, W&G Baird produces a full range of brochures and provides ongoing advice on impactful finishing techniques. For this edition, the client selected a distinctive translucent clear sheet positioned between the inside cover and the first text page, creating a striking first impression.

The brochure measures 250 x 190mm and is finished with a soft-touch lamination on the outer cover. The project is a strong example of close collaboration and shared creative vision, reflected in the client’s glowing testimonial praising the entire W&G Baird team for their expertise, attention to detail and commitment to excellence.

Being shortlisted for Bespoke Publication of the Year is a fantastic recognition of the skill, dedication and teamwork across W&G Baird, and of the trusted partnerships we build with our customers. We’re proud to see these four projects recognised on a national stage and look forward to the awards ceremony later this year.
